Parlay Betting Or Straight Betting For Horse Racing Handicapping Profits
Are you a choppy winner or streaker when it comes to betting on horses? Some people seem to have luck or success in streaks while others hit now and then in no discernible pattern. How often and when you win can help you decide if you should use parlay betting.
Kelly betting, which naturally accounts for the size of your bankroll and makes your bets bigger when you win is one way to increase your wins when you are hot, but parlay betting may work better for you. In case you are new to betting on horses, parlay betting means taking whatever you won on your first bet and rolling it over into your next bet.
For instance, let’s say you bet $2 to win on the horse you liked in the first race and it won and paid $10. In win parlay betting, you’d bet the whole $10 on the next horse you liked, and so forth, until you lose it all or stop betting. If you had decided to use a three race parlay bet, you would bet on three races, assuming you’ve won the first two bets.
As you can see, this type of betting can amount to some large scores, unfortunately, though it can also amount to many lost bets because you need to hit three in a row or however many you wanted to play. Streaky winners can make a lot of money on this style of wagering. On the other hand, if you’re a choppy winner, one who wins now and then but rarely twice or three times in a row, then parlay betting should be avoided.
Before you try parlay betting, why not keep track of your bets for a month and see how many bets you make and how often you win two or three in a row. Then, if it appears you win in streaks, you can become a parlay bettor and start making big scores.
